Identity Information

What personal information about me is collected?

Our identity verification process consists of collecting the following information:

  • Legal Name

  • Address

  • Phone Number

  • Date of Birth

  • Image of a government-issued ID

  • Social Security Number or Taxpayer Identification Number

Where is my data stored?

Linus uses a partner, Passbase, to store sensitive personal information. Passbase allows Linus to verify your identity without having to store your sensitive information on its own servers.

Linus keeps a copy of a minimal subset of your personal information on its servers. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Why do you need my SSN?

Linus is required by its banking partner to collect and verify your SSN.

Financial Information

How is my bank account and/or card information handled?

The details of your sensitive payment information are not stored by Linus.

For ACH, your bank account information is sent securely by you in tokenized form to our banking partner using Plaid. Plaid helps you safely connect your financial accounts to Linus and its partners. You can use the Plaid portal to view and manage access to the apps connected to your financial information.

For card, your details are encrypted and passed via secure socket layer to our card processor, where your information is stored tokenized. The card processor is PCI compliant, which ensures that your information is being handled in accordance with industry standards.
